REFLECTIVE JOURNAL WEEK 5

GREAT CATS

Date: 19 March 2009
Time: 8.30pm

While I was browsing through the net, I thought of an idea so I went into
http://animal.discovery.com because our project is about Animal Conservation. The website was really very interesting. I went into the endangered species Guide. I decided to click on the mammals section as it will be relevant to the topic GREAT CATS. The article says that Tigers and Pandas are the most endangered species. Great Cats are mostly killed because of Poaching, habitat loss and loss of prey species. As for the Red Pandas and Giant Pandas they are mostly killed because of Poaching and habitat loss.

In addition, the ICUN [International Union for Conservation of Nature] they add in that 20 percent of all known mammal species are either threatened or endangered. This is about 1,100 species. As we like the world to be a better place for us to live in, likewise we should make it the same for these species. Everyone should do their part in preserving the habitat of these endangered species.
