REFLECTIVE JOURNAL WEEK 4

GREAT CATS

Date: 5th March 2009
Time: 4.40pm

According to the article which I read in my internet research, it is quite disheartening to know that the Great Cats Population is decreasing rapidly. Large Cats are easily targeted for hunting, thus making it difficult to conserve them. Great Cats lost their population when there is shortage of their prey, the loss of their own habitat or killed by poaches. Everyone should admire their features more instead of killing them for their skin.
Although they are carnivores, we do have to conserve them as they are very rare.

The WCS which is known to be “Wildlife Conservation Society” is said to have the most effective field programme in saving the Great Cats in any conservation organization in the world. Together GCP [Great Cats Program] the WCS hope to develop implement innovative strategies to protect these Great Cat species. They also answer the important genetic questions that are faced by the Great Cats Population.
