On,10th August 2009,a tragic accident occured. It happened on the (CTE) Central Expressway when the traffic flow was heavy as it was the peak period. It happened so suddenly that made other cars to jam break and that caused a heavy jam along the Central Expressway.

One of the victims were a polytechnic student,Ms Elizabeth Chow,19, and the another one is a NS men,Mr Christopher,21. Both of them were knocked down by a Chevrolet car. Both of them were in a bike. Elizabeth was the pillion driver. The impact caused Elizabeth to flung up out of the bike. She suffered serious head injuries. Mr Christopher was lying on the road motionlessly. The paramedics arrived in the scene and try to retrieve him and Elizabeth was rushed to the Tan Tock Seng hospital.

A few witness were interviewed. A teacher, in her late 30s,said,"The incident happened so fast! The Chevrolet driver did not have ample time to stop." Mr Heng, a taxi driver,45, said "All I heard was a big bang and saw a girl flung out!" Mr Hari whom was driving in the third lane said that " They both seemed very young and is very disheartening too." The last witness we interview, Ms Stella, who is in her late teens, said that " It was quite terrifying to see streams of blood flowing on the road."

Inspector Abdul Rahman,40,the investigating officer, said" We are looking forward for more eye-witness and information on the Chevrolet Driver. He also suggested that motorist should be more careful when riding especially with pillion drivers. All drivers should avoid speeding during peak hours. He reminds the public to note down the license plate number of the vehicle in any case of Hit-and-run accident.

Any information on this incident or the driver's particular could be very much help in our investigations. We urge the public to come forward.
